Anne-Marie Masella

Corporate Director, Processed Poultry Quality Assurance
Olymel

B.Sc. in Food Science and Technology from Université Laval, with over 32 years of management experience in the food industry, specifically in quality assurance, research and development, and operational supervision, I remain actively involved in several committees.

Association Québécoise pour l’Innocuité Alimentaire (AQIA), of which I have been a member since its inception and currently serve as the Chair of the Board of Directors since 2019 (affiliated with IAFP).
• I also serve on the Quebec section of the Canadian Meat Council (CMC)
• Poultry – Operations Technical Committee (POTC).

Throughout my career, I have held positions in both Quebec/Canadian and international companies:

• Bilopage, Aliments Martel, Pillsbury, and
• For the past 22 years at Olymel, s.e.c. in the Technical Services and Food Safety department. I currently hold the position of Corporate Director, Processed Poultry Quality Assurance, overseeing 6 plants across Quebec and Ontario.

I hold a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification from the Mouvement Québécois de la Qualité and place great importance on staying current through various technical training programs (MQQ project management), in computer science, and in communications.

I have been involved in developing, delivering (in both official languages), and maintaining certain training modules for our SAPHYR program, including cooking, cooling & freezing, and foreign material control. In recent years, I have occasionally taught courses at Université de Montreal in the field of food processing.

Change management, digital adaptation, problem-solving, and operational excellence are areas that deeply resonate with me in an industry I have always considered essential: the food processing sector.

Outside of work, you can find me spending time with my family, enjoying the outdoors, or traveling.
