Manef ABDERRABBA, a Professor since 1995, currently holds the position of Dean of the Institut Préparatoire aux Études Scientifiques et Techniques (IPEST) at Carthage University, Tunisia, since January 2018. He is a founding member of the Laboratory of Materials, Molecules, and Applications and has been the Director of the Laboratory since 2014.
Manef ABDERRABBA defended his “State doctoral thesis” (thèse de Doctorat d’état es- sciences) in 1987 at the University of Bordeaux I, after obtaining his Doctor of Engineering degree in Physical Chemistry in 1984 from the same University. He also holds a Master’s degree in Business Management from IAE Bordeaux (1983) and a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the Higher School of Chemistry and Physics of Bordeaux (1982).
Professor Manef ABDERRABBA has held several important positions in Tunisia. From 2008 to 2012, he served as the General Director of Technological Studies at the Tunisian Ministry of Higher Education and Research. In 2011, he became the President of the Ministerial Commission for Procurement. He has also served as the General Director of Technopole Borj Cedria (May 2005 – April 2008), General Director of the Polytechnic School of Tunisia (March 2004 – April 2005), Director of the Preparatory Institute for Engineering Studies of Tunis (2001-2004), Director of Studies and Internships at IPEST (1998 – 2001), and Head of the Preparatory Cycle Department for the IPEST aggregation competition (1995-1998).
In January 2015, Professor Manef ABDERRABBA was nominated for the position of Minister of Education in the first government of Prime Minister Habib Essid.
Professor Manef ABDERRABBA has made significant contributions to the advancement of scientific research at the University of Carthage and has a substantial academic footprint. He has authored more than 250 articles published in peer-reviewed international journals. His h-index is 34 in the Scopus database. He is also the author and co-author of 4 industrial patents.
